Friends Forever

What do you get when you take 2 best friends, 2 pairs of gumboots, one umbrella, some rain clouds and a camera???  Well you get great photos, a busted umbrella and a sore belly from laughing.
Miss C and Miss R are as close as sister's and alway on the look out for each other.  They have laughed together, cried together, moved house together and preformed Christmas songs together (we have the footage to prove it)

Here is the fabulous miss C

 working that blue door...

and just being an all round glamor girl

of course her BFF can work it just as well...

Miss R sure knows how to hold an umbrella...

when with best friends, 2 is always better then 1....

Things got a lot more fun when we found the puddles...

Thanks girls for a fun filled adventure. thanks for helping each other and being ready to carry each other, for jumping puddles for each other and just standing up for each other.

Old Sydney Town

When you think of old towns, Sydney really shouldn't enter your thoughts. After all she is only a wee 200 odd years young.  Athens, Jerusalem, Delhi, Syria - now these are old cities!  Still i love walking around our "young"
city and finding the history that she has to offer....

The Nurse's walk at the Rocks

The imposing bank entrance at Martin Plaza

the juxtaposition of sandstone and metal

the homeless sitting at the steps of Gods home

and the thought of Captain Cook landing here only a few years ago with an exhausted crew and a bunch of
 convicts.....

how blessed we are to have this young, vibrant city. foraged from criminals sweat and tears. With enough history and soul to keep me happy....

Bunnies Ahead

So back in early May I was fortunate to be able to take some photo's of the Rabbitoh's team. Russell Crowe couldn't make it, nor could Issac Luke, Nathan Merritt, Roy Asotasi or....hmmm well actually none of the 1st grade players could make it BUT i did get to shot some players of the future along with some very beautiful future support team members!

So I give you the Rabbitohs Full back (season 2025). Note his concentration and cute little button nose...

Next may i present the Bunnies Hooker (season 2020). Just look at the steely determination in his face...

Finally i present to you the prop for the Mighty Rabbits (season 2020). You can feel the power of his hits...

And a drum roll please for the "Women in League" coordinator (season 2022)

Now you can see why Mr Crowe is so very quietly confident - he know's what the future holds....

These photo's were a gift for a very special grandmother - a woman who is always cheering for her team.
She is with them through the amazing team victories, handing out the high fives and group hugs. She is with them through the incredible low's - when her team hasn't had a win all season and the tunnel they jog through is very dark and lonely. She is the team manager, physio, coach and number 1 fan rolled into one!
This is her team...

It was a joy to spent time with these little bunnies and I thank you Mrs K, Mrs D and Mrs N for allowing me to hang out with your fantastic team. Grandmothers are very important to the lives of their grandchildren and I hope that these images will remind you just how much your team loves and adores you Mrs A ...

My Gran

My dear Granny passed away the end of July and so we traveled up to the north Coast of NSW to say our farewells. i have so many wonderful memories of my Gran and for that i will be eternally grateful. She was quick to hug us but very slow to let us go.  happy to sew us new clothes and hand make us dolls (or rabbits, turtles and  the most famous Bears).  Always ready to have us at her home - even at times when it was already overflowing with the rest of the grandkids. gran would happily take us to the beach every day (even though she didn't really like the sand). She was a wizz at words - scrabble, crosswords, boggle and she taught us well.
I could go on and on really - but for now I think it is enough to say "Thanks Gran and I'll see you soon. Much love forever, Tracy Lacey xxx"

An Apple a day...

We all know the saying but i wonder how many of us follow it.
I confess right here and now, the apple below was for display purposes only.
But it sure does look yum and juicy unlike my little models fingers  :)
Heck, that is what I'm here to capture right - the real moments, lol

This weeks goal - to eat more fruit!

So I was wrong...

I believe that if you are wrong it is very important to admit so and in light of this I openly admit that I was wrong.
My headless snapshot (see below post) actually won an award...
Highly Commended "
So there you go, maybe the world is ready for headless portraits...

Funny Story

So my eldest son, H and I entered a photo each in the local show this year. H is in the junior section and I entered in the open portrait section. We were both happy with our images and I took them off to our lab to get them printed and matted. So Far so good. After a quick chat to the shop assistant regarding size and cost (where i mentioned to her the section's we were entering our images) I started to download the images to her computer.
That's when it happened. The moment you take stock and realize that one persons Mona Lisa is another person's preschool drawing. The moment when I was so grateful that I can have a laugh at myself and be happy with where I am as a photographer. The moment that i realized that my entry didn't stand a chance in this competition =)
My image (for the portrait section) was up on the store's computer screen when the assistant leaned over with a small gasp and said to me...

"Dear, do you realize that their heads are cut off ?'

What could I say. Their heads were cut off. I had framed the shot like that. I loved this shot. My clients had loved this shot. So with a grin I explained that this portrait image was as it should be and I thanked her for checking.    Moral to the story - God made us all unique and different. I'm so glad He did.

Finding the LIGHT

Well it is here - my new and improved blog page.
The world of logo design and blog page building is fraught with danger and despair - however in all this darkness I found a shining light, in the shape of 2 amazing sisters from Texas, USA.
Thanks to Rita and Heather for your wonderful, patient and talented abilities.
I can not recommend them highly enough. So if you are stumbling alone in the design darkness please click on their site for some instant sunshine.....
